Imagine-It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta was developed on the street level of Museum Tower, a high-rise condominium tower overlooking the Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta. The Museum and base building tower were designed and constructed simultaneously by separate teams. Silverman’s role included significant coordination of the two teams of architects, engineers, contractors, and the building developer on a very tight site to achieve simultaneous completion of both projects. The Museum includes interactive exhibits and water features; fiber optic exhibit control systems, multiple theatrical lighting and audio systems; curved and tilted walls; graphic signage, sculpture, and flooring designs; and a multi-tiered security system for protection of the children, staff, and museum contents. Silverman received a National Award of Excellence from the Construction Management Association of America for this project.
